lab testing

Functional medicine lab testing.

Our practice offers integrative and functional medicine lab tests for autoimmune and gut health clients. Our comprehensive range of tests includes GI Map Stool Testing, Micronutrient Analysis, HTMA, DUTCH, MTHFR, Thyroid Panel, Inflammation, Cholesterol, Blood Sugar Balance, and others. These tests provide detailed health insights and enable personalized treatment plans to help clients achieve optimal health and wellness. Check out some of our most commonly run panels below.
GI-MAP Stool Test
Overwhelmingly, research indicates that gut health impacts overall health. The Gastro-Intestinal Microbial Assay Plus (GI-MAP) is unique in the field of comprehensive stool testing. It relies exclusively on quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) technology to detect parasites, bacteria, fungi, and more, by targeting the specific DNA of the organisms tested. Assessing GI health with the proper tools can help practitioners get to the root cause of chronic illness.

Extensive Micronutrient Panel
Micronutrients, which include vitamins and minerals, are one of the major groups of nutrients your body needs to function properly. SpectraCell’s Micronutrient test measures 31 vitamins, minerals, amino/fatty acids, antioxidants, and metabolites – and how they affect cellular function in a person. Correlating micronutrient deficiencies not only slows aging and degenerative disease progression, but it can also prevent as well as repair cellular dysfunction, and by extension, disease.

Extensive Thyroid Panel
Routine thyroid tests miss critical information about thyroid health. The Precision Point Diagnostics Complete Thyroid Panel goes above and beyond routine thyroid tests, which only measure thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and total T4. It gives a comprehensive view of thyroid function by measuring TSH, T3 (free and total), T4 (free and total), reverse T3, and anti-thyroglobulin and thyroid peroxidase antibodies. This test can be ordered standalone or as part of the Comprehensive Screen.

HTMA Testing
Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) tests reveal if you have mineral deficiencies and/or heavy metal toxicity. These can help explain the causes of many health symptoms and diseases. Hair, unlike blood, provides a long-term record of mineral excesses and deficiencies. Trace Elements has been recognized internationally as a leading provider of HTMA laboratory services and nutritional metabolic products for doctors and health professionals of all specialties worldwide.

Extensive Inflammation and
Cholesterol Panel
Cholesterol has historically been used as the standard indicator for cardiovascular disease. Studies, however, have found that it is actually the lipoprotein particles that carry the cholesterol throughout the blood, not the cholesterol within them, that are responsible for key steps in plaque formation and the development of cardiovascular disease. Measuring lipoprotein subgroups, which this panel does, is the only way to evaluate new risk factors, which is crucial for an accurate assessment of cardiovascular risk.

DUTCH Test
The Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones (DUTCH) is an advanced hormone test, that offers an extensive profile of sex and adrenal hormones and melatonin, along with their metabolites, to identify symptoms of hormonal imbalances. The panel, which can be easily collected in the comfort of your own home,  provides a comprehensive assessment of sex and adrenal hormones and their metabolites. It also includes the daily, free cortisol pattern, organic acids, melatonin (6-OHMS), and 8-OHdG.
